1.36 per cent persons test positive in Jammu and Kashmir | KNO

Srinagar, May 30 (KNO): Even as Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing a surge in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 over the past few days, however, a mere 1.36 per cent persons have been tested positive out of the total samples collected so far. As per the official data available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), only 2164 persons have been tested positive for Covid-19 out of the total 158729 samples collected in Jammu and Kashmir so far. As per the data over 98 per cent persons have been tested negative out of the total samples collected so far in the UT. “Of the total 158729 samples collected 156565 persons have been tested negative till Friday evening,” reveals the date. Out of total 2164 positive cases, 1261 cases are active while 875 persons have been cured and discharged and 28 patients have died so far in the UT. The death rate among the positive cases is as low as 0.02 percent as only 28 persons have died so far out of the total 2164 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir. Among the total 2164 cases, 1728 cases have been detected in Kashmir division only while the remaining 436 have been detected in Jammu division till Friday evening. Out of 1261 active cases, 929 are active in Kashmir while 332 are active in Jammu division and of the total deaths reported so far 25 have been reported from Kashmir while 03 have been reported from Jammu division so far. In Kashmir division, Anantnag district has reported highest number of positive cases (295) while Ganderbal district has recorded the lowest number of Covid-19 positive cases (31) so far. Similarly, in Jammu division, Jammu district has recorded the highest number of cases (128) while Doda district has recorded the lowest number of positive cases (02) of Covid-19 so far. In Kashmir division, Bandipora district has recorded highest number of recovery cases (132) while the recovery rate is lowest in Kulgam district (23). Similarly, in Jammu division, Jammu district has recorded highest number of recovery cases (37) while the recovery rate is lowest in Ramban district (03). In Kashmir division, Srinagar has reported highest number of deaths which stands at 7 of the total 25 deaths in Kashmir division. Anantnag and Baramulla has recorded 5 deaths each while Kulgam has recorded 4, Budgam 2 and Bandipora and Shopian one each. Similarly in Jammu division, out of the total 03 deaths, Jammu district has reported 02 deaths while Udhampur has reported a single death so far—(KNO)
