Govt timed ATD, teacher rationalization during summer vacations | KNO

Srinagar, Jun 20 (KNO): The government has said that Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) and rationalization process of teachers shall be initiated and completed during summer vacations in Jammu and Kashmir. The government however further said that the special focus of the drive shall be for the Jammu division. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Secretary School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma in a recent meeting said, “ATD is to be notified so that Annual transfer drive and rationalization shall be initiated and completed during summer vacations particularly for the Jammu Division to ensure the availability of teaching staff for new academic session.” Sharma in the meeting further directed that all the HODs shall furnish a two page note on AI initiatives and use and its further scope for Ease of Living. “Both the Directors of Jammu and Kashmir regions shall analyse the enrolment and results for the last three years and share the district-wise analysis report with the Administrative Department,” he said. Sharma further nominated Project Director, Samagra Shiksha as the Nodal Officer for celebration of International Yoga Day falling on June-21-2026. “Both the Director shall also nominate the Nodal officer for their respective division and extend full cooperation to the Nodal officer for successful conduct of the events on the IYD.” Secretary SED in the meeting also directed the Project Director, Samagra Shiksha to share the deployment list of JEEs and AEs engaged by Samagra Shiksha with both the directors of Jammu and Kashmir divisions so that their services may be utilized for monitoring the execution of civil works taken up under capex budget. About the de-freezing of teacher posts, Sharma said that the proposal needs to be followed in the GAD for its approval from the Council of Ministers. Regarding the internet connectivity, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha has been directed to take the issue with the BSNL and GoI with regard to providing internet connectivity in uncovered schools—(KNO)
