Srinagar, Feb 06 (KNO): A suicide bomber blowing himself inside a Shia mosque at Islamabad in Pakistan that left more than 30 worshippers dead sparked multiple protests across Kashmir on Friday. According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), members of Shia community held massive demonstrations across Baramulla, Srinagar, and Bandipora. Protesters raised anti-Pakistan slogans and condemned the attack on Shia worshippers in Islamabad, Pakistan. Protesters were held at Chainabal Pattan (Baramulla), Imambara Zadibal, Harwan (Srinagar), Inderkote–Sumbal (Bandipora) and Diver Parihasipora, reports said. Demonstrators raised slogans like “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Hukumat-e-Pakistan Murdabad.” Meanwhile, India condemned the bombing at an Islamabad mosque and condoled the loss of life it has caused. “It is unfortunate that, instead of seriously addressing the problems plaguing its social fabric, Pakistan should choose to delude itself by blaming others for its home-grown ills,” the statement said. “India rejects any and every such allegation, which is as baseless as it is pointless,” it added. Pertinently, at least 31 people were killed and 169 injured in an explosion at a mosque during Friday prayers in Islamabad. Police said a suicide bomber detonated a device after approaching the gates of the Shia-mosque in the Tarlai area of the city, while eyewitnesses said the blast was preceded by the sound of gunfire—(KNO)
