According to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), these artisans have been working tirelessly to bring something special for Christmas. An artisan from Srinagar shared that the papier-mâché artworks were specially designed for Christmas, aiming to bring the joy of Kashmiri traditions to holiday celebrations everywhere. Among the handmade creations are meticulously crafted stars, angels, and wreaths, using techniques passed down through generations. These works uniquely highlight Kashmir’s rich artistic heritage while incorporating festive themes. “This year, the demand for handmade Christmas decorations has been encouraging. People are looking for meaningful, unique items, and our art captures that sentiment perfectly,” said another artisan. With growing global interest in sustainable and handcrafted goods, Kashmiri artisans are optimistic about their creations finding a place in homes worldwide, serving both as a source of livelihood and a connection to cultural heritage.
