COVID-19: 88 travellers among 564 test positive in J&K, tally mounts to 25,931 | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 11 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday recorded 564 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 88 travellers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 25,931. The total 25931 cases include 20,085 from Kashmir and 5,846 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among 564 new cases, 431 belong to Kashmir division while as 133 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 20,085 including 13,974 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 5,846 including 4,005 recoveries and 37 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,462 including 5,658 from Kashmir division and 1,804 from Jammu division. With 604 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 17,979 which is 69.33 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,350 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 5,846. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 90 from Srinagar, 53 from Baramulla, 37 from Pulwama, 23 from Kulgam, 02 from Shopian, 42 from Anantnag, 39 from Budgam, 33 from Kupwara, 67 from Bandipora and 45 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 133 from Jammu division include 72 from Jammu, 10 from Kuthua, 04 from Rajouri, 06 from Ramban, 06 from Udhampur, 07 from Samba, 02 from Doda, 14 from Kishtwar, 07 from Reasi and 05 from Kishtwar," officials disclosed to KNO As per officials figures, 6,350 positive cases including 157 deaths and 3,897 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,231 including 83 deaths and 1,664 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1,897 including 1,197 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Pulwama,1,642 including 1,435 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,536 including 24 deaths and 1,388 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,612 including 35 deaths and 1,203 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,609 including 1,115 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Budgam, 1,306 including 1,035 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,168 including 630 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Bandipora and 734 including 410 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 1,685 including 905 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Jammu district, 767 including 531 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 611 including 571 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 612 including 523 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 631 including 435 recoveries and two deaths are from Udhampur, 529 including 342 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 317 including 286 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 289 including 180 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 235 including 93 recoveries are from Reasi and 170 including 139 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 398,400 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,902 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,462 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 300,191 persons have completed surveillance period and 49,355 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 738,203 samples are available. Out of 738,203 the number of samples tested negative stands at 712,272 while as 25,367 have been tested positive, among them 7,462 are active and 17,979 persons have recovered—(KNO)
