COVID: Lockdown extended in Budgam for six more days | KNO

Budgam, Aug 05 (KNO): The district administration Budgam on Wednesday decided to extend the lockdown for six more days in the district to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads that restrictions were extended in the district vide order number 209/DMB of 2020 dated 30-07-2020 upto 4-08-2020. “After discussion with the health authorities and examining the ground situation, it has been found that the restrictions should be continued for the time being to stop the spread of the COVID-19. Now, therefore, in order to contain the further spread of COVID-19 and in exercise of powers under Section 144 Or PC and Section 34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005, the following restrictions are hereby extended in the district for a period of six (6) day's wef 5-08-2020 to 10-08-2020,” the order reads. The order further reads that, there shall be complete lockdown in the whole district, all shops, business establishments in the district including main towns of Budgam, Magam, Chadoora. B.K.Pora, Beminu, Charar-e-Sharief, Narbal, Beerwah, Chittergam, Nagam and Khansahib shall remain closed. There shall be complete restrictions on both inter and intra-district movement of public transport including SUMOS, Tavecras, Auto Rikhshaws etc. Only vehicles carrying goods, LPG, Oil Tankers, shall be allowed,” the order added. “There shall be complete restrictions on both inter and intra district movement of private vehicles including 2-wheelers Only official vehicles and vehicles with valid permissions and those of Medical officials shall be allowed. Only Agriculture Horticulture and construction activities shall be allowed per SOP/DMRR guidelines,” it further reads—(KNO)
