Nowshehra Infiltration bid: Army hands over US made M 16 other arms, ammo to J&K police | KNO

Rajouri, June 02 (KNO): After a gap of four days, the army Tuesday handed over a US made M-16 riffle besides other arms and ammunition to J&K police as per the protocol. Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that after four days of the operation Nowshehra, where three militants were killed as per security officials, the army today handed over weapons and other material recovered from the site of gunfight to the police. They said that three weapons that include two AK-47 rifles, one US made M-16 rifle and its magazines as well and a UBGL besides a few pouches have been handed over to police. Police have registered a FIR in Nowshera police station into the incident after a written communication was established by the army authorities. A police official confirmed to KNO that arms, ammunition and other material has been received by them from the army News agency KNO was the first to break that three militants were killed in the Nowshehra operation while as fourth one had sustained injuries for whom massive combing operation as going on in the area. A top police official had revealed that it was infiltration bid by the militants who tried to sneak into this side of fence—(KNO)
