COVID-19: Travelers comprise over 45 percent of patients in J&K, reveal official figures | KNO

Srinagar, May 30 (KNO): Over 45 percent of positive Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir constitute the travelers entering Union Territory from different countries and States. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among 2341 cases, 1056 are travelers which constitutes 45.10 percent of the total cases detected positive in the J&K. “In Kashmir out of 1853 total cases 662 are travelers which constitutes 35.72 percent of cases detected in the division,” an official said. Furthermore, in Jammu division out of 488 positive cases 396 are travelers which constitutes 80.73 percent of total cases detected in the division. In Anantnag, out of 314 cases, 22 are travelers which means share of travelers in district in just 0.7 percent while as out of 277 cases 209 are travelers which constitutes 75 percent of total cases in detected in the district. In Srinagar, out of 272 cases 124 are travelers which constitutes 45 per cent of the total cases detected in the district while as out of 258 cases 150 were travelers in Kupwara which is 58.13 per cent of the total cases. In Baramulla the share of travelers is 21.6 per cent , 11.64 per cent in Bandipora, 10.11 per cent in Shopian, 36.36 per cent in Budgam, 15.62 per cent in Ganderbal and 50 per cent in Pulwama, officials told KNO. In Jammu districts the share of travelers in positive cases is 63.07 per cenet in Jammu district, 95.5 per cent in Ramban, 92.9 per cent in Kuthua, 67.6 per cent in Udhampur, 85.3 per cent in Samba, 94.7 per cent in Poonch, 92.59per cent in Rajouri, 71.4 percent in Reasi, 100 per cent in Kishtiwar (8 out of 8) and 60 per cenet in Doda. Pertinently, over 1 lakh residents of Jammu and Kashmir have been evacuated so far from different areas—(KNO)
