18-year-old youth drowns in Madhumati Stream, Bandipora; Rescue operation on | KNO

Bandipora, June 24(KNO) : An 18-year-old boy drowned in a stream in kuloosa village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday evening. Reports reaching to KNO said that the youth identified as Danish Manzoor, Son of Manzoor ahamad, drowned in Madhumati stream while taking bath in kuloosa area of Bandipora. Following the incident, a joint team of police and local volunteers began rescue operation and continuously efforts are made to trace the drowned youth. A Senoir police officer told KNO that the rescue operation was immediately launched. However locals told KNO that the body of drowned youth was not retrieved so far. It is pertinently mention here that the stream is paving way to the water coming from kishan ganga Hydroelectric power project due which ample quantity of water flows through this stream.(KNO)
