Srinagar, November 26 (KNO) : As many as 23 Kashmiri inmates who were lodged Kotbalwal jail in Jammu have been shifted to Haryana jail in Punjab, the move which was condemned by the pro-freedom leaderships, terming the move as against the direction of Supreme Court (SC). The 23 prisoners who are booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) have been shifted to Haryana Punjab jail recently. According to KNO correspondent, the pro-freedom leaders have condemned the shifting of dozens of Kashmiri detainees to Haryana (India) jail, saying that “shifting Kashmiri inmates to outside jails is most cruel and illegitimate act of rulers. Expressing concern over the shifting of prisoners from Jammu and Kashmir to jails outside the state, the leaders termed the move “not only against the principles of democracy but also a blatant violation of the Supreme Court guidelines.” They said shifting Kashmiri prisoners to various prisons across the country was sans justification and the step had cleared that the rule of law did not exist here as Kashmir was directly ruled by lakhs of security forces. The pro-freedom leaders have also urged the international community and international human rights organisations to come forward and raise their voice for the suffering humanity.
