Waqf Board retrieved land, properties in 3 years: Darakhshan | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 17 (KNO): Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and BJP National Executive Member, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi on Thursday said Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has retrieved land and other properties in the last three years. Speaking during an event organised by the BJP to mark Ambedkar Jayanti at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag, Dr Andrabi, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said people who love mosques and shrines continue to visit them without any hindrance. “There is no unrest, no discomfort,” she said. Dr Andrabi said the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has taken major steps in the past three years to revive lost properties and strengthen the institution. “We have successfully retrieved land and other property belonging to mosques and shrines, ensuring these assets remain protected,” she added. Referring to political criticism, she said some people are trying to divert attention with negative commentary, but the public knows the Waqf Board is working sincerely. “People are no longer giving attention to those who are only focused on showmanship,” she shared. Dr Andrabi also spoke about the importance of the Constitution, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened constitutional values and governance. “Congress and others have been crying foul for the past eleven years, but in fact, Modiji introduced Samvidhan Divas and reinforced constitutional authority,” she said. Meanwhile, a statement issued to KNO reads: Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board & National Executive Member BJP, today presided over the Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration Event held by BJP at Dak Bungalow in Anantnag. Speakers at the event spoke about the contribution of Baba Sahib in the making of modern India. His contribution to ensuring social justice and equality was discussed at length. Party leaders pledged to take the message of Baba Sahib to the grassroots. “In her address, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that we are proud to build this nation on the constitutional principles given to us by Ambedkar Ji. She said that the Modi era is the golden era in India for strengthening constitutional authority in all spheres of governance and public life. ‘Congress & Company has been shouting for the past eleven years that Samvidhan is under threat, but in reality, Modiji has strengthened the Constitutional spirit in India. Modiji introduced Samvidhan Divas in the country,’ said the BJP National Executive Member. The event saw participation from several BJP leaders, including District President Rakesh Koul, ST Morcha UT President Chowdhary Roshan, General Secretary Adil Hussain Nengroo, Vice President Pinka Malik, G N Dar, Maqbool Ganai, and Dr Amin Bhat—(KNO)
