Baramulla, Nov 02 (KNO): A surprise inspection at Government Degree College (Boys), Baramulla, on Monday reportedly exposed premature departure of staff, with nearly 50% of employees, including Heads of Departments (HODs), Assistant Professors and Lecturers, found absent from the premises before the scheduled closing time.
An Official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the inspection was conducted by a team of the District Administration, headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Baramulla, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, following reports of staff leaving the institution before the prescribed time.
“During the inspection in the early afternoon, the team reportedly found that around half of the college staff had left the premises,” he added.
Taking serious note of the matter, the administration has obtained biometric attendance records of the employees concerned to verify their attendance and ascertain the circumstances surrounding their early departure.
Officials said further action would be initiated in accordance with applicable rules and procedures after examination of the attendance records.
Pertinently, the district administration has stressed the need for punctuality, accountability and strict adherence to prescribed working hours in government institutions—(KNO)
