Srinagar, Sep 18 (KNO): Calling the language used by Doda legislator, Mehraj Malik as unacceptable, Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Thursday said that the slapping of the Public Safety Act (PSA) against him was ‘unjustified.’ Talking to reporters here, the Deputy Chief Minister, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that society doesn't allow the use of such a language against anyone. However, he said that the slapping PSA against Mehraj Malik could have been avoided and the issue would have been acted upon by filing a simple FIR. "I have repeatedly made statements in this regard. The officials should work as per the situation and conditions. In case they won't, it becomes difficult for them to even perform their duties,” the Deputy Chief Minister said. Pertinently, MLA Doda was detained under Public Safety Act over a week ago. He is presently lodged in Kathua jail—(KNO)
