RBI holds MSME Samvaad for weaving artisans, entrepreneurs in Budgam | KNO

Srinagar, Jul 09 (KNO): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday organised an MSME Samvaad meeting at Humhama, Budgam, bringing together around 80 weaving artisans and MSME entrepreneurs from Sukhnag to raise awareness about credit access, government schemes and institutional support for enterprise development. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the RBI organised the MSME Samvaad meeting for artisans and MSME entrepreneurs from the Weaving Cluster, Sukhnag (Budgam), at Humhama. The spokesperson said the event was inaugurated by the Deputy General Manager, RBI, Jammu, and attended by the Joint Director, Directorate of Industries & Commerce (Kashmir Division), Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Deputy General Manager, J&K Bank, and officials from the MSME-Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), District Industries Centre (DIC), NABARD, Lead Bank, RSETI and various banks. Around 80 artisans and entrepreneurs participated in the meeting. He said the Deputy General Manager, RBI, Jammu, in her inaugural address highlighted the vital contribution of the MSME sector to economic growth, employment generation and regional development. She said MSME Samvaad is a district-level outreach initiative of the Reserve Bank aimed at expanding engagement with entrepreneurs, strengthening financial inclusion, promoting awareness about institutional support mechanisms and creating a platform for meaningful dialogue between MSMEs, banks and government agencies. The spokesperson said she encouraged participants to make full use of the forum to better understand the various financial products, government initiatives and institutional mechanisms available for the growth of their enterprises, while also sharing their feedback to strengthen the MSME ecosystem. He said the Joint Director, Directorate of Industries & Commerce (Kashmir Division), highlighted the importance of coordination among government departments, banks and entrepreneurs, and encouraged artisans and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the various government schemes and institutional support available for enterprise development. The event also featured thematic sessions on key aspects of MSME development and financing, including recent Government of India initiatives for the MSME sector, access to formal credit, documentation and application processes, and the MSME Health Clinic—(KNO)
