Rainawari Boy Makes Valley Proud with Gold in World Pencak Silat Championship | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNO): Sheikh Mohammad Ibrahim, a 14-year-old boy from Rainawari, Srinagar, has made the Valley proud by clinching a gold medal in the 5th World Pencak Silat Championship (Junior Category). The championship, held in Abu Dhabi from December 18 to 22, saw participation from some of the best junior martial artists worldwide. According to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Ibrahim, under the guidance of his coach, showcased exceptional skill and determination in this traditional Southeast Asian martial art, securing the top position. Competing against elite athletes from across the globe, Ibrahim’s focus and technical mastery stood out, earning him this remarkable achievement. Speaking exclusively with KNO about his victory, Ibrahim said, “This medal is not just for me but for the entire Valley. I dedicate it to my coach, family, and everyone who supported me. This is proof that hard work and determination can make anything possible.” His coach, Nassir Ahmad, expressed his pride, saying, “Ibrahim’s dedication and hard work have paid off. This is a proud moment for me as his coach, and it proves that with the right guidance and effort, our youth can shine on the global stage.” Notably, Pencak Silat, known for its blend of physical agility and mental discipline, requires years of rigorous training.
