Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNO): Continuing its operation against drug peddlers/smugglers, Police in Awantipora on Tuesday said to have attached single storied concrete residential House valuing approximately Rs 30 lakhs as per market belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat resident of Larkipora Padgampora Awantipora, under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
“The residential house was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of enquiry conducted by SHO Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora which have accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the said drug peddler. Pertinently, the said drug peddler is involved in case FIR No. 212/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Police District Awantipora, police said—(KNO)
