Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Kulgam, contraband substance recovered | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 11 (KNO): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession. According to the statement, a police party of Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Furrah Bypass intercepted two suspicious persons, who tried to flee from the spot. During checking, officers were able to recover 115 grams of Charas like contraband substance from their possession. They have been identified as Javaid Gulzar Ganie, and Shahid Mushtaq Bhat, both residents of Furrah. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 252/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been set into motion. General public is requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to police in eradicating the drug menace from the society as drugs are consuming the precious lives and career of our young generation, the statement reads—(KNO)
