Srinagar, Jan 17 (KNO): In a heartwarming story from Bijbehara, a Class-10 resident of the Yateem Trust's Girls Orphanage proves that circumstance is no match for unwavering determination—staggering 493 marks, a score that speaks louder than words. Rukhaya has been living at the orphanage for the past three years, during which the institution has taken complete responsibility for her upbringing, including food, clothing, education and other essential needs. Recognising her academic potential, the Yateem Trust enrolled her in a nearby private school in Bijbehara, where she consistently performed well and ultimately achieved this remarkable result. Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Rukhaya said that life without a father is never easy, especially when there is no stable source of income. “Life becomes even more challenging when you are struggling financially. There were times when it felt very difficult to move forward,” she said. She credited the Girls Orphanage and its staff for standing by her during her toughest phase. “When my struggle for my future was at its peak, this orphanage supported me and helped me chase my dreams. They bore every expense related to my education and daily needs,” she said, adding that the institution gave her not just shelter, but hope and confidence. Rukhaya described the orphanage as her second home. “I feel like I am living with my own family here. Everyone takes care of me with love and affection, especially our warden Saba Jan, who has supported and guided me very well” she said. Sharing a message for other students facing hardships, Rukhaya said that no one should ever lose hope. “If you learn to overcome challenges, you can achieve any dream in life. Continuous struggle makes you strong and bold, and it teaches you how to live life with courage,” she said. “I want to reach a position where I can help people who are facing difficulties, just like I was helped during my hard times,” she added—(KNO)
