Srinagar, Jul 16 (KNO): Vice Chairman of the J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), Khurshid Ahmad Shah, on Thursday inspected Brari Nambal to review ongoing conservation and restoration works, directing officials to ensure their timely completion while maintaining quality standards and strengthening efforts for the waterbody's long-term preservation. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the inspection was part of the Vice Chairman’s ongoing programme of regular field visits to ensure the effective implementation of conservation and restoration measures. The spokesperson said the Vice Chairman was accompanied by the Superintending Engineer, Collector, Enforcement Officer (Dy SP), Executive Engineers of Lake Division I, Lake Division II and Mechanical Division, AEEs, JEs, scientists and other officers and officials of the LCMA. During the inspection, the Vice Chairman reviewed the conservation and restoration works being undertaken by the Authority and directed the concerned officers to ensure timely completion of all activities while maintaining the highest quality standards. He also stressed the need for regular monitoring and sustained efforts for the long-term protection and ecological restoration of Brari Nambal. The spokesperson said the Vice Chairman directed officials to prepare estimates for works required for the preservation and beautification of the Brari Nambal lagoon. Highlighting the importance of coordinated action, the Vice Chairman urged all field officers to work with dedication and commitment towards preserving the ecological integrity of Brari Nambal and ensuring the conservation of the waterbody, the spokesperson said—(KNO)
