The order issued by the district magistrate, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) cites the apprehensions of landslides as seen in the past days for the closure of the vital highway. "The restrictions at Danakha Mode and NS Bridge Uri from 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM on Sunday (11.01.26) are necessary in order to avert loss of life and property", reads the order. Pertinently, the highway had witnessed multiple landslides in the recent past, causing severe inconvenience to commuters.
