Srinagar, Jan 17 (KNO): Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Srinagar & Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Srinagar, a police team of Police Station Soura at a checkpoint established at SKIMS Chowk Soura near Hospital Gate intercepted a suspicious person. During the search, a substantial quantity of contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Rouf Ahmed Zargar son of Nazir Ahmed Zargar resident of Manigam Ganderbal, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
In Handwara, a police team headed by SHO Police Station Kralgund at a checkpoint established at Resripora Kralgund intercepted a suspicious person identified as Danish Ahmad Mir son of Gh Hassan Mir resident of Kralgund. During the search, 110 grams of contraband charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Both the drug peddlers have been arrested & cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
