Srinagar, Oct 02 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir should serve as a guiding light for the youth and the people of the Union Territory. Addressing Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at SKICC here, the Lieutenant Governor, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “Gandhiji wanted to see peace and prosperity in J&K.” “He (Gandhiji) had said that he sees a ray of hope in this land. I pray that J&K emerges as a shining star to show the light to the entire country in these difficult times (1947 partition era).” He urged the youth of J&K to make Gandhian ideals the basis of their lives and contribute actively to the welfare of society. “Our young generation must realize that Bapu’s J&K is one of peace and prosperity, and they have a responsibility to shape it with their energy and dedication,” he said. Highlighting the government’s commitment to Gandhiji’s philosophy, LG Sinha said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the regime is working tirelessly to fulfill the Mahatma’s dream of a “Viksit Bharat.” He further stressed the importance of embracing the concept of swadeshi to promote self-reliance and economic growth in the Union Territory. “The J&K government has been promoting Bapu’s vision of swadeshi by setting up domestic industries.
