Srinagar, Aug 11 (KNO): National Conference (NC) chief spokesperson and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq on Tuesday urged the Centre and Jammu and Kashmir administration to end unnecessary suspicion of local youth, saying such a perception is widening the trust deficit between Kashmir and Delhi.
Speaking to reporters here, MLA Sadiq, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), referred to the recent killing of a police Head Constable in Anantnag, saying youth should not be put under the scanner following such incidents.
“We need to trust our people a lot. If we want to close the distance between the heart and Delhi and make it closer, then I think we have to trust our people,” he said.
Backing PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks that some elements exploit such situations to cast suspicion on youth, Sadiq said the National Conference would raise the issue with the Centre.
“The way Mehbooba has spoken... we agree with her. Some elements take advantage of such incidents to put our youth under the scanner. This needs to stop,” he said.
The NC chief spokesperson also dismissed speculation about a tariff hike, saying no such order had been issued by the administration and urging people not to believe rumours.
“There is no such order. Last time too, a rumour was spread. There is no increase in any tariff,” he said.
