JKLF, Chairman, Yasin Malik in a statement today condemned the arrest of Abdul Sattar Sher Gujri, who was summoned to a police station on November 11 and arrested there. He was told that that there were multiple cases registered against him. Strangely he had been released a few weeks ago when the same cases were pending against him. JKLF Chairman described the arrest of Mr Abdul Sattar as sheer political persecution and as a typical example of State terrorism. Mr. Sattar is a popular political worker and a responsible office bearer of JKLF whose arrest is only reflective of the ongoing political repression in Kashmir. Yasin Malik asked Jammu Kashmir Police to stop harassing pro Azadi political workers and their families. He asked the local policemen to stop hiding behind the façade of rule of law and refrain from inhuman persecution of Azadi loving people.
Meanwhile, Yasin Malik expressed grief at the sad demise mother of Greater Kashmir staffer, Ali Muhamad Dar and father of Greater Kashmir Reporter, Shabir Ibn Yusuf.
