COVID-19: J&K records another spike as 615 more test positive; tally mounts to 17920 | KNO

Srinagar, July 26 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Sunday recorded 615 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 145 travelers taking the total number of positive cases 17920 With 615 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 17920 including 14148 from Kashmir and 3772 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 615 new cases, 479  belong to Kashmir division while as 136 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 14148 including 7920 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 3372 including 2008 recoveries and 23 deaths. They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7680 including 5939 from Kashmir division and 1741 from Jammu division. With 411 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 9928 which is 55.40 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent few days before. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 4002 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 3772 "Cases tested positive in J&K include 209 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 02 from Kulgam, 27 from Shopian, 25 from Anantnag, 17 from Kupwara, 25 from Pulwama, 88 from Budgam, 41 from Bandipora and 31 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 136 from Jammu division include 37 from Jammu, 05 from Kuthua, 33 from Rajouri, 06 from Udhampur, 15 from Ramban, 10 from Samba, 14 from Doda, 14 from Poonch, 0 from Kishtwar and 02 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 4002 positive cases including 88 deaths and 1583 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1772 including 63 deaths and 1164 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1445 including 972 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kulgam, 1390 including 20 deaths and 897 recoveries are from Shopian, 1176 including 21 deaths and 802 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1035 including 674 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Kupwara, 1219 including 610 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Pulwama, 1128 including 611 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Budgam, 632 including 410 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Bandipora and 349 including 197 recoveries and 06 death are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 860 including 486 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Jammu district, 465 including 302 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 557 including 123 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Rajouri, 394 including 299 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 487 including 249 recoveries are from Ramban, 374 including 202 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 252 including 118 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 184 including 137 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 106 including 37 recoveries are from Kishtwar and 103 including 55 recoveries are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin, 354,869 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 44,429 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7680 persons are in hospital isolation while 12 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 262,256 persons have completed surveillance period and 40,180 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 581,707 samples are available. Out of 581,707 the number of samples tested negative stands at 563,787 while as 17,920 have been tested positive, among them 7680 are active and 9928 persons have recovered—(KNO)
