Srinagar, Apr 21 (KNO): With the spike in Covid- 19 positive cases in the valley, footfall at the Srinagar Airport has gone down to 30 per cent, said an official. A top official from the Srinagar Airport told news agency—Kashmir News Observer(KNO) that after the recent spurt in Covid-19 positive cases in the valley, the footfall at the Airport has gone down to 30 per cent and the current prevailing Covid-19 situation may further add to less footfall, "as visitors and travellers are avoiding the travel". "After the tourism activities had gained pace and addition of night flights at Srinagar Airport, there used to be a footfall of around 12000 people, which has gone down now up to 8000," an official said. "The way the cases are emerging across the country and fresh lockdowns imposed in different parts of the country, the footfall may further go down, as most of the people in this prevailing Covid-19 situation are avoiding the travel," an official said. He also said, Airport Authorities are ensuring all the Covid-19 Sops and guidelines are followed and all the inbound passengers are tested first before leaving the Srinagar Airport.
