A meeting of the executive council of Huriyat conference presided over by Syed Ali Geelani and attended by executive member of Muslim League, Muslim Democratic League , Khawateen Markaz ,Peirwan e Walayat , Kashmir Freedom Movement , Tehreek-e Wahdat -e- Islami ,Employees Movement , People's league , Tehreek-e- Hurriyat, Anjuman Sharie Shiyan ,Democratic Political Movement , Muslim Conference, People’s Movement ,Khawateen Kashmir, People’s League, Kashmir Freedom Movement , Tehreek-e-Mazahmat, Islamic Political Party and Kashmir Freedom Front, was Saturday held at Hyderpora

According to a statement, during the meeting, the Hurriyat Conference leaders held detailed deliberations on the ongoing political situation, movement, and various organizational matters and leaders said that conglomerate is not averse to dialogue and has always sought and from day first stressed for meaningful talks for the lasting resolution of Kashmir issue.

 The executive members observed that practicable and workable situation is must in resolving the vexed Kashmir issue, however added that India was morally duty-bound to create conducive situation for this purpose.

There is no let-up in suppression and oppression, unabated arrests of youth and leadership, prolonging detention on one pretext or the other, character assassination through media channels and NIA, said leadership and added that in such situations the result oriented dialogue is not possible.

Syed Ali Geelani in his presidential address said that we are not averse to negotiations, however we believe and we are of this firm option that only tripartite talks can prove conclusive and result oriented and added that we assign top priority to prestige and dignity of nation and we have enough talent to plead our case.

Stressing that peace, stability, and development of entire South Asia was connected with the resolution of Kashmir issue, Syed Ali Geelani said and added that for the peace and development of the region, 15 million people of entire Jammu and Kashmir have to decide their future political destination.

 

During the meeting, the Hurriyat Executive Council members condemned the arrest of Hurriyat chief spokesman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar and said that these worst kinds of oppression and suppression won’t break resolve of leadership and political activists.
