Meanwhile, seven separatist leaders, including spokespersons of both the factions of HC, two sons and son-in-law of Mr Geelani remained under the custody of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connect with terror funding case on July 24. A headline spokesperson said that large number of security forces and state police personnel remained deployed outside the Hyderpora residence of Geelani, who is not being allowed to move out and offer Friday prayers in mosque since last year.
He said Mr Geelani was put under house arrest immediately after he returned from New Delhi in May last year. A spokesperson of moderate HC said that no restrictions have been imposed on Mirwaiz. “Mirwaiz will today address congregational at historic Jamia Masjid, where no Friday prayers were held for two successive weeks due to curfew like restrictions in downtown Srinagar,” he added.
