He in a statement to Brighter Kashmir said that Organization of Islamic Countries has adequate resources to tackle problems and serve best for the betterment and upliftment of humanity.

Geelani while welcoming the statement of OIC on Kashmir, said that “we hope that this institution will leave no stone unturned and will play its effective and pivotal role in world politics. There is dire need to represent the divine message of peace and righteousness of Islam and OIC is the best platform to promulgate and promote this message.”
OIC has a greater and pivotal role in international politics, asserted Geelani and stressed “OIC authorities to play its assigned and outstanding role in resolving the issues related to Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Qatar, and issues related to genocide of Rohingya Muslims.”
Denouncing the statement of India over OIC, wherein they have said that ‘’OIC has no locus standi on Kashmir’’,
Geelani said that “India is deliberately overlooking the historical background and facts related to Kashmir issue and while hailing OIC for its stand on Kashmir, urged to raise Kashmir issue in all international forums and use influence to highlight atrocities perpetrated by Indian authorities, arrest spree, uncalled and unjustified use of brute force against peaceful and innocent citizens.”
Appealing its member countries, Geelani urged to “favour and present unanimous resolution in UNO for settlement of Palestine and Kashmir issues and urged to resolve all bilateral and political issues amicably.”
He while favouring peaceful political settlement and situations in Middle East, added that “member countries should ask UN Secretary General to find ways and means to stop those oppressive forces responsible for prevailing bloodshed in the region.”
Geelani while hailing the Bar Association for their moral support for its president, Advocate Miya Abdul Qayoom, said that “each and every section of society should resent and resist sinister designs, and stand firm against unauthorized, baseless allegations and defamation campaign launched by NIA.”
Paying tributes to Shaheed Aijaz Dar on his 29th martyrdom anniversary, Geelani said that “he was a great warrior and a front line solider in freedom movement.”
