“Swachta Express” to ply across Kashmir, Ladakh : Div Com | KNO

In order to promote “Swachta He Sewa” in the Valley, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today kick-started Nationwide Sanitation Campaign from DC Office complex here.

Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Joint Commissioner, SMC, Deputy Director, Planning and other officers were present on this occasion. The Divisional Commissioner said the aim of the campaign is to reinforce the concept of 'Sanitation is Everyone's Business', re-energize Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and to focus on cleanliness so that an environment of cleanliness is created through mass participation.

 

            Khan appealed the masses to come forward and become part of the 18- day Nationwide Sanitation Campaign which will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti 2nd October, 2017. He said people must contribute to the noble cause by keeping their surroundings clean.

            To create awareness about the campaign, he asked the officials to ply “Swachta Express” vehicle in every nook and corner in the valley, including Leh and Kargil to disseminate information on a larger level. He also called for organizing seminars, rallies, debates, painting & sports competitions in every district regarding the cleanliness campaign.

          He asked the officials to felicitate outstanding students and other performers who contribute to the campaign with awards and prizes on Gandhi Jayanti which falls on 2nd October.
