Political issue to be resolved politically not by caging the opponents : DFP | KNO

A party spokesperson in a statement termed the martyrdom of youth and vengeful activities against the civilian population as barbaric. He said those terming the graveyard silence in the State as peace should realise that political issues are to be resolved only through political means not by caging the opponents in jails that too on fabricated charges. Declaring victory by resorting to such means is unacceptable.

The spokesperson expressed serious resentment over the continuous detention of party’s chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah and other resistance leaders. He said keeping a person behind bars and maligning his image is easy and to prolong the detention of that person due to lack of evidence tantamount to accepting defeat.

He asked Indian leaders to understand that if suppression could define the destinies of nations, the hundreds of countries on the face of globe wouldn’t exist; many of these nations had been struggling for their rights and achieved independence.

The DFP spokesperson said Indian authorities rather than resorting to arrests and other coercive tactics should talk to all stakeholders of Kashmir dispute and resolve it in the better interest of the subcontinent which will then see a new dawn of peace and prosperity.

The spokesperson condemned the harassment of party’s driver Sheikh Zameer Ahmad by NIA and said this amounts to murder of justice and is purely based on political vengeance.

He also condemned the arrest of a Jammu-based trader Chowdhary Abdul Razaq by NIA and said such measures are aimed at scaring the businessmen.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson paid glowing tributes to martyrs of Sopore, Shopian and Kulgam and said such loss of precious human lives can be stopped if all the stakeholders, particularly India, take initiative. He expressed condolence and solidarity with the families of all the martyr
