Secretary Sports Council reviews sports activities in Chrar, Sopore | KNO

The Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra reviewed sports activities in various areas of Central and North Kashmir including Chrari Shareef of Budgam district and Sopore of Baramulla district.

Under its Youth and Sports Promotion initiative, J&K State Sports Council (SSC) has already started a programme to provide recognition and support to sports teams from villages to boost sports activities in the State.


“Reviewing of sports activities in the state is part of our Youth and Sports promotion initiative, and we are happy to see large number of youth in these areas aspires for sports activities,” said Secretary Sports Council, Waheed Parra, while interacting with players at Sopore today.


Sports Council recently appointed NIS certified coaches from almost every district of the state to review and to train the young and aspiring sportspersons of the state.


“Aspiring sportspersons like us have access to class-level coaching programs, chance to participate in Sports tournaments at district, State, National and International levels,” added Rayees Bhat, who hails from Chari shareef area of Budgam.


Moreover, the Council also provides coaching at every district of the state by professional and NIS trained coaches, which has boosted the sports activities in the state.


Subsequently, the Council is also providing assistance for face lifting of playgrounds of various villages and wards.
