The outfit’s spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to news agency GNS quoting its chief Mehmood Shah said the only crime of these leaders is that they “demand freedom”.

“If any kind of harm is imposed upon these Hurriyat leaders, Delhi Sarkar will (have to) pay the price,” the Lashkar chief warned and urged the world’s humanitarian organisations to visit Jammu Kashmir and take notice of “inhumane behaviour of Indian forces” in jails.

Shah also expressed concern over the poor health condition of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and her husband Dr Muhammad Qasim Faktoo – the Ameer of Muslim Deeni Mahaz – in jail.

“The two leaders are denied medical care which is a violation of basic human rights and a condemnable act,” he said.  “Indian security forces have been guilty of (committing) violence and killings innocent people.”

Mehmood Shah strongly condemned the prolonged arrest of Aasiya and her secretary Sofi Fehmeeda under “fake” PSA. “Such inhumane (and) shameful acts can’t suppress the freedom movement,” he said. (GNS)
