Terming the biased decision of United States to designate the largest organisation of Jammu Kashmir - the Hizb ul Mujahideen as foreign group as ridiculous, the Democratic Freedom Party on Thursday said this organisation is fighting at local level against Indian occupation of Jammu Kashmir.

A party spokesperson in a statement issued to press said the US made this decision to secure its business interests with India.

"The US decision violates the UN ruling that guarantees the right to self determination to those states fighting against foreign occupations. The Hizb ul Mujahideen is fighting at local level for the rights of oppressed and subjugated Kashmiris," he said.

The spokesperson said though America is a big power but keeping in view the changing global scenario, the world is not bound to follow US rulings. "Those fighting against oppression don't need anyone's permission," he said.

He termed it unfortunate that India is shedding blood in Kashmir by utilising its whole state machinary to suppress the people's sentiments of freedom.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Ayoub Lelhari, who was the LeT's district  commander Pulwama and martyred in gunfight with forces in this south Kashmir district. He expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family and said the sacrifices of martyrs won't be allowed go waste.
