In a statement, a Hurriyat spokesperson said although nothing objectionable was seized or recovered from the residence of Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-u-Din and Shahid-ul-Islam, however, all these arbitrary measures are hired just to malign resistance movement and to implicate them in fabricated cases.

He said people are mature enough to understand and that it is a psychological crackdown against resistance camp just to make them scared.

“It won’t dampen our resolve and aspirations and will pursue our mission till its logical end. People also know that such arm twisting tactics to scare the leadership and malign them by the New Delhi and their local stooges are attempts to take away the focus from the actual prevailing situations in state and distort the narrative of the Kashmir dispute.”
