Dukhtaran-e-Millat while expressing serious concern over the deteriorating health conditions the party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Wednesday castigated the puppet government for putting her life under grave risk.

In a statement, DeM general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said that according to the family members of Andrabi Sahiba and Sofi Fehmeeda, who had gone to Ambphalla jail to meet them, the party chairperson has had a serious asthma attack recently and no medical facility has been provided to her.

“The recent asthma attack caused due to unhygienic conditions inside the jail premises and due to denial of medical care has taken a serious toll on the health of Andrabi Sahiba,” she said.

She said that because of the attack, dangerous levels of phlegm has accumulated inside her chest due to which she isn’t able to talk or  breathe properly. “She hasn’t slept for the past many nights and her condition is worsening with every passing day as no medical facility has been made available to her since May 18—the day she was lodged in the Ambphalla jail,” she added.

Nasreen said that it was a clear case of political vengeance. “ It seems that this puppet regime, on orders of their masters in Delhi, want to kill Andrabi Sahiba inside the jail. That is why despite being critically ill; this puppet government isn’t shifting her to Kashmir. Ideally, keeping in consideration her critical health condition, Andrabi Sahiba should be released but this government is so much frightened of this woman leader that it isn’t even shifting her to Kashmir,” she added.

“It seems that the government is scared that if we release or shift her to Kashmir, it will shake their illegal occupation,” she added.

She said that if anything happens to the party chairperson inside the jail, it will have serious repercussions.

Nasreen further appealed the world bodies and International Human Rights organisations to take a serious note of how the Indian authorities have illegally detained a woman under the draconian Public Safety Act and how she was being denied proper medical care. “These organisations are also urged to take note of the Indian Supreme Court decision that the detainees should be lodged in nearby jails and how India was disrespecting the same when it comes to the detainees from Kashmir,” she added.

“Not only is this an illegal occupation but it is an inhuman way to forcibly rule the oppressed people,” she said.

“Andrabi Sahiba is not only a leader of Kashmiri freedom movement but a world-renowned leader Islamic movements and any harm to her will have serious consequences.”

She said that DeM will be forced to resort other means and measures, if the authorities fail to shift the party chairperson to Kashmir as soon as possible.

In this regard, she said, the Ulema and Imaams of Masajid’s in Kashmir are appealed to raise the issue of illegal detention and denial of medical facility to a brave daughter of Kashmir during the upcoming Friday congregations.

“They are also appealed to hold special prayers for her release and freedom from illegal Indian occupation.”
