Independence Day: Full dress rehearsal held across Jammu | KNO

Full dress rehearsals were held on Sunday for 71th Independence Day celebration across Jammu division.

The events witnessed large participation of school children, civil society members, contingents of belt force personnel, senior civil and police functionaries.

JAMMU

A full dress rehearsal was held in Mini- Stadium Parade whereat Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandhari took salute at the contingents of District Police, CRPF, JKAP, NCC, Forest Protection Force and students drawn from various schools. 

A scintillating cultural bonanza depicting patriotism, culture and message against the social evils was also presented by the school Children.

          Students from various government and private schools of Jammu city and its peripheries participated in the rehearsal for cultural show to be presented at the divisional level function of Independence Day to be held at Mini-Stadium Parade Ground.

IGP Jammu, S.D. Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, DIG, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SSP, Dr. Sunil Gupta, ADDC Anuradha Gupta besides senior functionaries of district administration were present on the occasion.

 Ramban

 In Ramban the event was held at District Police Line Chandrog  where District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Tariq Hussain Ganie hoisted the National Flag and took salute from the contingents.

          As many as 23 contingents including Military band, CRPF, IRP, JKP, FPF, NCC squads and students drawn from various institutions took part in the parade.

          The DDC inspected the parade and observed the band drill, cultural programme including folk songs, national songs and dance items which enthralled the people.

         The DDC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for smooth celebrations of I-Day.  

Among other SSP Mohan Lal, ADDC, Ravinder Nath Sadhu, ACR, ASP, XENs, DYSSO, heads of various institutions, prominent citizen followed by huge gathering witnessed the event.

Udhampur

At Udhampur, the Full dress rehearsal of the upcoming 71th Independence Day was held in the premises of Government Degree College, Boys here today.

The rehearsal started with unfurling of tricolor by Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma followed by the inspection of the parade and taking of salute.  

          Around 38 contingents of CRPF, Police, NCC, Home Guards, Educational Institutions etc. participated in the march past.

          In his address, ADC highlighted the various achievements registered by different departments in the district during the current financial year. He also called upon the people to maintain peace and communal harmony to facilitate all-round development of the district.   

          Series of cultural items, depicting patriotism and rich Dogra culture, were also presented by the students of different educational institutions.

          At the end, the ADDC issued necessary instructions to the arrangement committees    to put in their best efforts for making the national function memorable.

          Additional Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa, ACR Subhash Chander Dogra, ACD Om Parkash, CPO Ashok Khajuria, CEO J.R. Bhardawaj, PO DRDA Jagdish C. Mehra, DIO Esha Chib, DYSSO Sudesh K. Chalotra, other District Officers besides a large number of teachers and students from different schools were present during the rehearsal.

Reasi

           Reasi administration held the full dress rehearsal at Mini Sports Stadium where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ravinder Kumar took the salute at the march past comprising 28 contingents of IRP, J&K Police, STC Talwara, NCC and various educational institutions.

SSP Tahir Bhat, ACR Abdul Sattar, XENs and various other civil, police officers and heads and staff of educational institutions were present on the occasion.

            Speaking on the occasion, the DC lauded the importance of Independence Day celebration and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event.

          Students presented a scintillating cultural programmes based on patriotic themes.

Doda

      The full dress rehearsal was held in Doda at Sports Stadium which witnessed presence of a large number of students, local people, heads and staff of educational institutions, besides civil and police officers.

The rehearsal started with hoisting of national Flag by Deputy Commissioner   Bhupinder Kumar followed by the inspection of the parade comprising contingents of CRPF, JKAP, JKP, Forest Protection Force, NCC  and School children of various Educational institutes.

      The DDC briefly highlighted the relevance of national festival and expressed hope for greater participation of the people in making the event successful.

       Later, a cultural programme was also presented at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) under the supervision of cultural committee comprising of various officers of district administration.

          SSP Mohammad Shabir Khatana, ADC Mohd Hanief Malik, ADDC Narinder Singh Bali, ACR Tariq Naik and other senior officers of District administration were also present on the occasion.

Similarly full dress rehearsal was also held    in Bhaderwah at Boys Higher Secondary School   under the supervision of Tehsildar.    

Samba

           At Samba, the full dress rehearsal was held at Raja  Suchet Singh Stadium  where  contingents comprising Ex-Serviceman, J&K Police, NCC  cadets and students of different government as well as private educational institutions presented the march past. 

The rehearsal was supervised by District Development commissioner (DDC) Samba, Sheetal Nanda. The DDC, after hoisting the tricolour took salute at the march past.

          She also reviewed the arrangements for transport, drinking water, sanitation, first aid and issued necessary instructions to the concerned departments and participants to make the function a grand success.

SSP, Anil Magotra also reviewed security and traffic arrangements at the venue and gave necessary instructions to marching contingents.

The students from different schools presented a cultural programmes prepared for the main function.

ADDC Vivek Sharma, ADC Tilak Raj Sharma and other district level officers were present on the occasion.

Kathua

          At Kathua, the full dress rehearsal for Independence Day, 2017 celebrations was held at District Sports stadium.

Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar unfurled the National flag and took the salute at an impressive march past. Around 46 contingents drawn from Police, CRPF, NCC boys and girls and tiny platoons from Government and Private schools took part in the march past. The band squads of police and schools were main attraction.  

Speaking on the occasion, the DC greeted the people on behalf of district administration. He said the nation has attained independence after scores of sacrifices by freedom fighters.  He said it is our duty to safeguard this hard fought independence by doing our duties with dedication and honesty.

Rehearsal for theme based cultural program depicting various Government initiatives, tributes to freedom fighters and rich cultural heritage of the country was also presented.   

SSP Suleman Chaudhary, ADC Dr Bharat Bhushan, Principal PTS Kathua, District officers and a large number of school children were present on the occasion.

Similarly function was held at Tehsil headquarter Basohli wherein ADC Sanjay Gupta took salute at the March past.   

Rajouri

At Rajouri, the full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines where Additional Deputy Commissioner Awtar Singh Chib unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the March Past.

In all 29 contingents of JKAP, JK Executive Police, CRPF, JK Lady Police, JK FPF, Home Guard and NCC besides the contingents of Senior Group Students and Junior Group Students from various government and private educational institutes took part in the March Past under the command of Parade Commander Imtiaz Choudhary (SDPO Manjakote).

 A variety of cultural programmes depicting the cultural diversity of the district were presented by the participating troupes.

The full dress rehearsal was also held in all the sub-divisions and tehsils of the district.

While expressing satisfaction over the performance of parade contingents and cultural troupes and overall arrangements being put in place for the celebrations of I-Day, Dr. Shahid Iqbal, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri informed that the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Information would be the Chief Guest on the occasion and the flag would be hoisted at 8.55 am at District Police Lines.

Present on the occasion were Deepak Kumar Slathia DIG Rajouri Poonch Range, SSP Yougal Manhas, ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, Executive Engineers of all engineering departments besides all the district officers.

Kishtwar

The full dress rehearsal for Independence Day function was held here at Parade Ground with huge participation of school children, government officials and civil society members.

The District Development Commissioner Ghulam Nabi Balwan unfurled the tricolour and took salute of the March past presented by contingents of CRPF, CISF, JKP, Forest Protection Force, NCC and different schools children. Over 1800 children of different schools of district participated in the full dress rehearsal parade.

The DDC directed all officers to attend the main    function to make the national festival a big success. He also asked the contingents to rectify the minor deficiencies which he observed during the inspection.

Later, a rehearsal of the cultural programme was also held in which students of various schools presented colourful items.

SSP Sandeep Wazir, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma, ACR besides other senior Officers of district administration was present on the occasion.

Poonch

A full dress rehearsal program was held   in border district at sports stadium amid tight security arrangements.

 Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahamad Zargar  hoisted the National Flag, took salute and inspected the march-past presented by the contingents comprising JKAP, JKP, CRPF, NCC cadets and schools children.

On the occasion, a scintillating cultural programme featuring patriotic songs, folk dances and music was presented by students of various schools.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajiv Kumar Panday interacted with contingents and students and appreciated their preparations for the upcoming national event.
