OIC urges New Delhi to allow rights commission to visit Kashmir | KNO

Reports said that OIC reaffirmed its support to the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has urged New Delhi to permit a delegation of its Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) to visit Kashmir to verify reported human rights violations in the territory, Pakistan media reports said on Saturday. 

 

Reports said that OIC reaffirmed its support to the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

 

"The OIC said this in response to a recent press release by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs regarding the resolution adopted on Jammu and Kashmir," a report in Pakistan Today said. 

 

The OIC said that it has endeavoured to engage with India to help in finding a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
