Official sources said Mehbooba will reach New Delhi tomorrow morning and was likely to call on the Prime Minister and some other Ministers to brief them on latest developments including concerns voiced by political parties on Article 35A.

Though Article 35A would dominate Mehbooba’s meetings with the Prime Minister and other Central leaders, some other Jammu and Kashmir specific issues could also be discussed, they added.

Yesterday, Mehbooba had called on National Conference president and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah at their residence and briefed them on steps being taken by the State Government to defend Article 35A in the Supreme Court. Today, she met three other senior Opposition leaders and gave them similar briefing.
